With $3.72 billion impact annually, South Dakota’s beef industry is one of the driving forces behind our economy. We’re working to help end one of South Dakota’s biggest problems: Hunger. The South Dakota Cattlemen’s Foundation is pleased to announce the fifth annual Prime Time Gala – an upscale banquet dinner at the Sioux Falls Convention Center and concert with award-winning country music artist, Justin Moore, featuring Tracy Lawrence and Diamond Rio, at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. The South Dakota Cattlemen’s Foundation has pledged to raise $150,000 Feeding South Dakota at the 2018 Prime Time Gala.
All proceeds from the concert, gala auction and truck raffle will support Feeding South Dakota as well as our scholarship program. We believe in the mission of Feeding South Dakota – and we also believe in promoting beef as a healthy part of a balanced diet. We also recognize that the future of the beef industry lies in the youth who have a sincere interest in the industry. With our scholarship program, amounts $5,000, $4,000, $3,000, $2,000 and $1,000 will be awarded to five students from South Dakota enrolled in any post-secondary institution in South Dakota. Now’s the time! It’s prime time to have you join us in our mission.
What is Feeding South Dakota?
Feeding South Dakota provides emergency food assistance to thousands of people in any given week and hundreds of men, women and children every day. Annually, Feeding South Dakota distributes 13.5 million pounds of food, providing hunger relief to all 66 counties in South Dakota. Over 190,000 people receive food through Feeding South Dakota programs every year. This means that more than 11.3 million meals are provided to families, seniors, and individuals across our great state. One of the most critical needs of Feeding South Dakota is securing protein to distribute to those in need. Funding from the Prime Time Gala helps to ensure that hungry individuals have access to protein, providing them with a healthy diet.
